We are a fast-growing UK social media agency looking for an exceptional Social Media Video Editor & Graphic Designer to become one of the first key members of our creative team.
We are not looking for somebody who simply adds captions to videos or drops content into Canva templates.
We want someone who genuinely understands modern social media content, attention, branding and what makes people stop scrolling.
You will initially work closely on content for our own agency, the personal brand of Kelly — the public face of the business — and a small portfolio of UK clients.
As we grow, your portfolio will gradually increase. Once you reach an agreed capacity, we will recruit another editor, then another, rather than continually increasing your workload.
Our intention is for the person we hire now to become a very important part of the agency as we scale.
What you’ll create
Your work will include:
Instagram Reels, TikToks and YouTube Shorts
Talking-head short-form edits
Animated captions and typography
Text behind subjects, masking and motion graphics
B-roll, music and sound design
Colour correction and grading
Social media graphics
Instagram/Facebook posts
Multi-slide carousels
Facebook covers and profile assets
Photo-based graphics
Branded social media assets
Resizing and repurposing content across platforms
You will work across different industries and different visual identities, so you must be able to understand a brand and then consistently reproduce that style once it has been established.
We will handle the strategy, client management, captions, scheduling and publishing.
Your main focus will be creative production.
No client communication required
You will not be expected to communicate directly with our clients.
You will work through someone at Luna Media, who will provide you with the brief, content, feedback and direction you need.
We want you focused on producing outstanding creative work, not dealing with client calls, messages or account management.
Workflow and capacity
We generally work approximately one week ahead, meaning the content produced this week will normally be prepared for publishing the following week.
This gives you time to create high-quality work rather than constantly working reactively.
As the role develops, you may eventually manage creative production for approximately 15–17 active client brands, depending on content volume and complexity.
We will manage capacity carefully. Once an editor reaches a sensible workload, we will recruit another editor rather than simply continuing to increase the workload.
We want you to be honest with us about what you can realistically handle while maintaining the quality we expect.
If you can comfortably handle more, great.
If you feel your workload is reaching capacity, we want you to tell us.
Quality is more important than forcing an unrealistic number of clients onto one person.
Creativity matters
Sometimes clients will provide excellent footage.
Sometimes they won’t.
We need someone who can look at the assets available and think creatively about how to turn them into engaging content.
You should understand current social media trends, editing styles, hooks, visual pattern interrupts and modern graphic design.
We want you to bring ideas to us — not simply wait for instructions.
You should be comfortable taking a raw video, photo, logo or basic idea and turning it into something that looks professional, modern and attention-grabbing.
Communication
Excellent communication is extremely important to us.
You must have a good level of written and spoken English and be comfortable communicating regularly through WhatsApp.
You must also be comfortable joining occasional Zoom/video calls with the Luna Media team when required.
We do not require you to work full UK hours, but we would like some reliable overlap with UK working hours when needed for communication, feedback and meetings.
Because we generally work ahead of schedule, we care more about reliability, communication, quality and meeting deadlines than requiring somebody to sit online during UK office hours all day.
You must also be comfortable working with systems such as Google Drive for receiving footage, organising client assets and delivering completed work.
Organisation is extremely important. As the agency grows, every client will have their own folders, branding, templates, footage and content assets, and we need someone who keeps everything organised properly.
Behind-the-scenes content
From time to time, we may ask you to screen-record parts of your editing or design process while you work.
We use behind-the-scenes footage to create content showing how our agency operates and how our creative team produces client content.
This will not be required for every project, but you should be comfortable occasionally recording your screen while editing or designing.
Long-term commitment & transparency
This is not a temporary freelance project.
We are looking for somebody who wants to build a long-term working relationship with Luna Media and become an important part of our creative team.
We value honesty and transparency.
If you currently work with other clients or have other ongoing commitments, we expect you to tell us openly during the recruitment process.
Once appointed, Luna Media must receive the level of time, focus and availability agreed with us.
Any outside work must not interfere with deadlines, communication, quality of work or your agreed capacity with Luna Media.
You must also avoid working with any business that creates a direct conflict of interest with Luna Media or our clients.
As the role grows, there may be an opportunity for Luna Media to become your primary or exclusive long-term position, which we can discuss with the successful candidate.
What we’re looking for
We want somebody who is genuinely excellent at both short-form video editing and social media graphic design.
You should be:
Creative
Reliable
Responsive
Organised
Detail-focused
Comfortable receiving feedback
Able to make revisions quickly
Able to work across several different brands
Able to maintain consistent branding
Confident making creative decisions
Comfortable working independently once a brand style has been established
Able to understand modern social media trends
Honest about your workload and availability
Strong spelling, typography, visual hierarchy and attention to detail are essential.
Experience with tools such as Premiere Pro, After Effects, CapCut, Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva or similar software is useful, although we care much more about the quality of your work than which software you use.
Long-term opportunity
This is not an occasional freelance project.
We are building a creative team.
The person we hire first will work on some of the most important accounts in the agency, including our own Luna Media brand and Kelly’s personal brand, alongside client work.
As we add more clients, we intend to add more editors rather than simply overload the original team.
The first person we hire has a real opportunity to become one of the key members of our creative department as the agency grows.
For the right person, there is potential for the role to expand into a more senior position as we build a larger editing and creative team.
We are happy to pay good money for somebody who is genuinely exceptional.
We are looking for the best person, not simply the cheapest person.
Recruitment Process
We are going to be very selective about who we appoint to this role.
We are looking for one exceptional person who we can trust with our own agency brand, Kelly’s personal brand and our client accounts, so quality is extremely important to us.
We will initially review applications and portfolios and shortlist only a small number of candidates.
Shortlisted candidates will then be invited to complete the same PAID creative test using assets and a brief supplied by us.
The test may include a short-form Reel, social media graphic, carousel and/or branded social asset.
You will be paid for your time completing the test.
We will assess not only the finished work, but also:
Creativity
Attention to detail
Communication
Ability to follow a brief
Organisation
Turnaround time
Ability to maintain branding
Overall quality of work
The strongest candidate will then move into a paid trial period before we agree a longer-term position.
We are looking for somebody who wants to become an important part of the team as Luna Media grows.
