We are looking for a confident, organized, and people-focused HR & People Operations Assistant to help us recruit, onboard, train, support, and manage our remote team.
Excellent spoken English is required for this position. You will regularly conduct interviews, orientations, employee follow-ups, performance conversations, and other meetings by voice or video. You must be able to communicate clearly, naturally, professionally, and confidently in English.
This is an active people-management position, not simply an administrative HR role. You will interact with candidates and employees throughout their journey with the company—from the first interview through orientation, training, weekly follow-ups, performance management, and, when necessary, termination and offboarding.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruiting & Interviews
- Review applicants and identify qualified candidates.
- Schedule and conduct interviews by voice or video.
- Evaluate candidates' English communication, professionalism, reliability, experience, and overall fit.
- Maintain organized interview notes and candidate records.
- Communicate next steps with applicants.
- Coordinate hiring decisions with management.
New-Hire Orientation & Onboarding
- Conduct orientation for new employees.
- Explain company expectations, policies, communication standards, schedules, and procedures.
- Make sure new hires clearly understand their roles and responsibilities.
- Confirm completion of required onboarding steps.
- Create a professional and organized onboarding experience.
Training Coordination
- Make sure every employee completes required training.
- Assign and track training activities.
- Follow up with employees regarding their progress.
- Identify employees who are falling behind or need additional assistance.
- Confirm employees are prepared before advancing into their regular responsibilities.
Weekly Employee Follow-Ups
- Conduct scheduled weekly check-ins with employees.
- Discuss performance, progress, challenges, attendance, training needs, and expectations.
- Reinforce accountability and company standards.
- Document important conversations and action items.
- Follow up to ensure employees complete agreed-upon actions.
- Escalate important personnel issues to management when necessary.
Performance Management
- Communicate with employees regarding performance, attendance, behavior, and company expectations.
- Give clear and professional feedback.
- Document performance concerns and corrective conversations.
- Help management maintain consistent HR procedures.
- Remain professional and composed during difficult conversations.
Termination & Offboarding
- Conduct or participate in employee termination conversations when required.
- Communicate termination decisions professionally, clearly, and respectfully.
- Complete offboarding procedures and documentation.
- Coordinate removal of company access, accounts, files, or resources when applicable.
What We're Looking For
You should be:
- Highly proficient in spoken English.
- Able to speak clearly, naturally, and confidently during calls.
- Comfortable conducting interviews and orientations.
- Comfortable leading one-on-one employee conversations.
- Professional when delivering difficult feedback.
- Comfortable participating in termination conversations when necessary.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Consistent with documentation and follow-up.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Able to maintain confidentiality.
- Comfortable working independently.
- Able to hold employees accountable while remaining professional and respectful.
- Comfortable learning and following established systems and procedures.
Previous experience in HR, recruiting, interviewing, employee management, team leadership, virtual assistance, or people operations is preferred.

Application & Voice Note
Please submit your application with a brief summary of your previous experience.
As part of the application process, please send us a 1–2 minute voice note answering these two questions:
1. Tell us about your previous experience working with employees, candidates, or team members and why you believe you would be good at this HR position.
2. Imagine an employee has repeatedly failed to complete their training and has already been reminded several times. How would you handle the conversation with that employee?
Please answer naturally rather than reading from a prepared script.
Because this position involves frequent conversations with candidates and employees, spoken English and communication ability will be an important part of our selection process.
