About Franc Art

Franc Art is an Australian art business founded by contemporary Indigenous artist Frances Thompson, based in Rockhampton, Queensland. My business focuses on original artworks inspired by my heritage, connection to Country, culture, nature and community. I also sell clothing and merchandise featuring my artwork through my online store and at markets and events.

The Role

I’m looking for a creative and proactive freelance content strategist to help grow my business, increase brand awareness and drive sales through social media.

I’m a full time artist, so I need someone who can take the stress out of thinking of content ideas and tell me exactly what to film and post. I will film the content myself, but I need your creative direction, planning and guidance.

The main platforms will be Instagram and TikTok, with Facebook also being important for promoting my business and reaching potential customers.

Responsibilities

• Develop creative content ideas for Instagram Reels, TikTok videos and Facebook.
• Provide clear filming instructions, including what shots to capture, how to film them and what to say.
• Create engaging hooks, captions, calls to action and video concepts.
• Develop a monthly content calendar to help me post consistently.
• Research relevant trends, sounds and video formats that suit my brand.
• Help create content showing my painting process, the stories behind my artworks, behind the scenes of running my business, and my clothing and merchandise.
• Develop strategies to grow my audience, increase engagement and attract potential customers.
• Repurpose content across Instagram, TikTok and Facebook where appropriate.
• Suggest ways to turn social media engagement into website visits and sales.

Facebook Ads and Marketing

Experience with Facebook and Instagram advertising through Meta Ads Manager would be a bonus.

I’d love guidance on creating effective ads to promote my artwork, clothing and online store, including campaign ideas, audience targeting, creative suggestions and ways to improve sales.

If you offer paid advertising services, please outline your experience, what is included and your additional fees. Managing advertising campaigns is not essential for the initial role.

Who I’m Looking For

I’m looking for someone creative, organised and proactive who understands short form video content, social media marketing and e-commerce.

Experience working with artists, creative businesses, online stores or personal brands would be highly regarded.

It’s important that you respect Indigenous culture and are comfortable taking direction on the cultural stories and meanings behind my artwork.

Video editing experience would be a bonus, but my main priority is content planning and creative direction. I want someone who can take my ideas and turn them into practical content plans, with clear instructions on exactly what I need to film.

Hours and Compensation

This is a flexible freelance role to start, with the possibility of an ongoing monthly arrangement if we work well together.

My initial budget is approximately AUD $100–$200 per month for content planning and creative direction, depending on the services included.
